Hailing from rural Maine, Leah Bonnema is a stand up comic now based in New York City. Huffington Post named her one of their “Favorite Female Comedians” and College Candy listed in her the “Top Ten Female Comics” in country. She has been featured on WeTV, Sirius-XM Radio and has toured for the troops in Iraq and the Middle East. Leah recently debuted her one-woman show, “Wake Up and Yell at Me,” at the People’s Improv Theater and she performed the closing monologue in Eve Ensler’s “A Memory. A Monologue, A Rant and a Prayer” at New York City’s Manhattan Theater.
Leah has opened for comedy legends Paul Mooney, Pat Cooper and Gilbert Gottfried and performed at the world renowned Friar’s Club. Leah was a finalist in the ‘New York’s Funniest’ Competition at the NY Comedy Festival, featured at Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival and on the “America Stands Up Showcase” at the Magner’s Glasgow Comedy Festival.
