Born and raised in Toronto, Shannon has had a passion for writing since she was old enough to scribble her name in crayon on her mother’s walls. A few years after completing a BA in Political Science, she grew tired of her working life, which was confined within the three-and-a-half walls of the corporate cubicle. This boredom, combined with a lifelong dream of building a career out of her passion, led her to quit life as she knew it and move to New York City to begin building a career as a freelance writer.
Known among friends and family as being brutally honest but with only the best of intentions, Shannon prides herself in telling it like it is sans-sugarcoating. She loves all the music you don’t hear on the radio (death to autotune!) and is utterly inspired by women from all walks of life who are living or are in the midst of pursuing their dreams.
